Advocacy

Children who have been diagnosed with learning and/or psychological challenges that impact their learning or ability to function at school, often need an IEP or 504 plan. Knowing your child’s rights and advocating for their best interests at school are crucial. My advocacy services walk parents through the legal and practical aspects of gaining access to special services within the school setting, from the time of diagnosis through appearing at the IEP/504 plan meeting alongside the parents.

Consultation

Choosing the school that best suits your unique child, is a BIG decision. What is a great school for one child, may not work at all for another. When a child is in their optimal learning environment, they thrive, and the right fit of school to child is the first step in setting your child up for success. If you need guidance in understanding what schools and services within schools, are available in our area, and which schools would best support your child, an educational consultation session is a first step.

If you have chosen to home school your child/children, you have no doubt chosen this different path because you believe it is the best way to support your child and family. Home school does prove to be ideal for many learners and families, but often times families need support at points in their home schooling journey- to determine best curriculum choices or develop original curriculum, support learning challenges, or to bring somebody in to work on particular subject matter.
